Stop carrying the whole household—and reclaim time and energy for your own life.

Reset the Motherload gives mothers a practical framework for sharing household responsibility, raising capable children, strengthening partnership, and making room for their own health and goals—without becoming better at doing everything themselves.

For mothers who love their families but are exhausted from being the person who notices, remembers, plans, and carries almost everything.

Is this for me?

Does this sound familiar?

  • You are the one who notices what needs to be done.
  • Everyone assumes you will remember.
  • You keep the household running while everyone else simply lives in it.
  • Your partner says he wants to help, but household responsibility usually drifts back to you anyway.
  • You ask for help, but managing the help becomes another job.
  • Your children are growing older, but you still do far more for them than you intended.
  • Your health, interests, and goals keep getting postponed until “things settle down.”
  • You love your family—but you are tired of carrying so much of family life alone.

If this feels familiar, the problem is not that you need a better planner, more discipline, or another productivity system. You are carrying an Invisible Load that has gradually become yours—and your household has learned to depend on you carrying it.

You do not need to become more efficient at carrying everything.

You need a new way for your household to work.

Why this approach is different

Most advice teaches mothers how to manage more.

This book shows families how to depend on mothers less.

Meal plans, calendars, routines, and organizational systems can be useful. But they do not solve the deeper problem when one person is still responsible for noticing, assigning, reminding, following up, and stepping in when something is missed.

Reset the Motherload goes beneath the task list. It helps you change the structure, expectations, and patterns that made you the default person in the first place.

If you keep doing everything,
they’ll keep letting you.

A practical reset

A reset for you—and for the household around you.

01

First, reset yourself

See what you are carrying, question the rules and beliefs that keep you carrying it, reconnect with your own goals, and practise a new way of responding.

02

Then, reset the household

Make the Invisible Load visible, build the household team, set clear expectations for contribution, and practise new patterns until shared responsibility becomes normal.

Can I trust you?

I did not write this as a productivity expert looking into mothers’ lives from the outside.

I wrote it as a mother who knows what it is to become the default person for almost everything.

Over more than two decades of motherhood, I have raised three children while working, building businesses, managing a household, and keeping family life moving through years when my husband often worked long hours or away from home.

Like many mothers, I gradually became responsible not only for doing tasks, but for noticing, remembering, anticipating, organizing, and making sure everything actually happened.

I began asking a question I could not ignore: Why do so many capable mothers end up carrying so much alone?

Reset the Motherload grew from that question. It is the practical framework I developed to help mothers step out of the default role, help children grow through contribution, and rebuild family life around real teamwork.

Frequently asked questions

Before you preorder

When will the book be available?

Reset the Motherload is expected to be ready by Christmas 2026.

Is this another book about becoming more organized?

No. The purpose is not to make mothers more efficient at carrying an unfair share. It is to change the patterns and household structure that leave one person responsible for almost everything.

Is this only for mothers with young children?

No. The Invisible Load can follow mothers through every stage of family life. The framework is especially useful when children are old enough to contribute but the household still depends on one person to notice, organize, and follow through.

Is the book about blaming partners or children?

No. It is about seeing patterns clearly, changing expectations, building capability, and creating a household in which everyone contributes.

What if my family resists the changes?

Resistance is normal when a household has adapted to one person carrying most of the responsibility. The book addresses the beliefs, boundaries, leadership, and repeated practice needed to create change that lasts.

Begin your reset

Your family can love you without depending on you for everything.

You do not have to wait until everyone is grown, the house is quiet, or life finally settles down before reclaiming time and direction of your own.
